The brave sailors have landed on the shores of an unknown island
they have named Catan. The women and men build the houses of the first colonies
with wood.
There are many raw materials available, roads are built, and the
colonies soon become cities. Trade plays a major role
on Catan: sometimes there is an abundance of clay, other times there is
more ore.
Ore is traded for wool, clay for wood, according to the
needs of the moment.
