Marvel Champions: The Card Game is a cooperative card game for one to four players.
Each player takes on the role of a Marvel hero, playing the game as that character and their alter ego.
During the game, players must work together to defeat a villain (controlled by the game) who is trying to carry out their evil schemes.
- Very strong and appreciated brand.
- High replayability.
- This core set, unlike others, allows for immediate play with 4 players.
- 3 Scenarios and 5 heroes included.
Marvel Champions: The Card Game takes place over a series of rounds.
Each round consists of a Player Phase and a Villain Phase.
During the Player Phase, players take their turns in turn order.
During their turn, a player can play cards from their hand, attack enemies, intervene against the villain’s schemes, and use ally, support, and upgrade cards they have in play.
After all players have taken a turn, the Player Phase ends and the game continues with the Villain Phase.
At the start of the Villain Phase, threats are placed on the main scheme. Then the villain activates once for each player and, depending on the situation, attacks the player or further advances their scheme.
Then the game reveals cards from the encounter deck, which add minions, hazards, side schemes, and enhancements to bolster the villain’s forces and assault the heroes.
The game continues in this manner until the players win together as a team or the villain wins.
Living Card Game:
Players can customize and expand the game by purchasing expansions that will be released regularly.
Each hero expansion pack features 1 new hero starter deck that can be played right out of the box, but also provides additional customization options for players' decks.
New villains and new adventures will be introduced in standalone scenario packs and deluxe stories.
Unlike collectible card games, all LCG expansions offer fixed and non-random content.
