BANG! Gold Rush introduces some innovative gameplay mechanics:

- Thanks to the shadow gunslinger variant, no player is ever eliminated permanently from the game. Shadow gunslingers temporarily return to play on their turn and can play as if they were still alive. With BANG! Gold Rush, even eliminated players can change the course of the game and determine the victory or defeat of their faction.

- Players can accumulate gold nuggets to purchase equipment. Purchasing equipment ensures greater strategic depth, allowing players to enhance their character's attributes.
